On a cold, almost-winter day, Lan Ramen truly hit the spot with perfectly chewy pulled noodles and flavorful hot broths. Found below the street, Lan Ramen has a very cozy & intimate atmosphere, great for snuggling up with a warm bowl of noodles. The staff were super attentive and had our water filled basically every time I blinked. For appetizer, the Taiwanese popcorn chicken was nicely balanced between crunch and juiciness. It wasn't it overpowered by salt or other flavors. The Dan Dan noodles had a delicious, but slightly numbing sauce that had us scraping the bowl for more. The N2 Braised Beef Pulled Noodles had tender thick pieces of meat that complimented the sensorial experience of chewing on hand pulled noodles. The broth had a decent amount of spice but didn't burn my mouth thankfully. I highly recommend Lan Ramen for those looking for a Chinese spot or craving soup

I grew up eating a lot of really excellent Szechuan food in Flushing, and it's been hard to find Szechuan of that quality elsewhere, even in other Chinatowns, so you can imagine my surprise at the quality of the food here. This rating really only applies to the 2 dishes that we tried, but they were both 5-star dishes. We had the N8 noodle soup and the shredded pork with bamboo stirfry. The stirfry really stood out for me. I love this dish and I get it at almost every Szechuan place I ever go to, and the rendition at Lan Ramen is probably top 3 for me. We got the N8 noodle soup because my husband was feeling under the weather and didn't want a spicy soup. It had excellent depth of flavor and was perfectly light and savory at the same time. We are planning to come back in just a few weeks to try more dishes. Even though we frequent the Philly Chinatown often, we haven't found Szechuan food this good and we are excited that Lan Ramen offers us these flavors without having to go all the way to Flushing/NYC. My only constructive criticism - If there isn't a Chinese/Mandarin menu, they should make one, because the English names for the dishes on the English menu don't necessarily reflect what the dish is going to be. If there was a Chinese menu, it'd be easier to know what we are ordering.

Came here for dinner with the family. Great service. The staff was friendly and efficient. The restaurant was a little hot but it could be because it was crowded. The food was good. I didn't really it was a taiwanese restaurant when we first walked in but the food was delicious. Everyone loved the tomato and egg with noodle. That sauce would be great with rice also. The pickle radish and carrots were some of the best we've ever had. The fried pork chop was good but we wish it was cut so thinly. It would have been better if it was thicker slices. The noodles were good. The sesame chicken was so tender. Overall the meal was delicious and we would definitely go back

My brother and I stopped in to try Lan Ramen after a recommendation from friends, and really enjoyed our lunch! Food: we started with the mini buns which were a bit too mini, but definitely tasty. Shrimp was hot and crispy, bun was pillowy and sauce was tasty. We both said the N5 was our favorite. The noodles were chewy and perfectly cooked, and the pork was savory and delicious. Love the freshness of the veggies in this dish. I got the N9 and really enjoyed this was well. It was flavorful and the beef was super tender. Service: servers were very attentive. The food came out very quickly as well. Ambiance: this is a really cool spot. It's downstairs and a bit dark, but we love the warm of the atmosphere and modern decor. Overall, we will absolutely be back to try more!
